I was specially invited by Raenest, the parent company of Geegpay, to their 2025 Raenest Event, and honestly — it was amazing.
The energy in the room? Electrifying. It’s easily one of those events I now plan to attend every single year.
But of course, this video (and this article) isn’t just about the event itself. The real highlight was the major announcements and new features they unveiled for 2025 and beyond. And some of these updates are huge — especially if you’re a freelancer, creator, or remote worker.
Let’s break it all down.
The Big Announcements
1. Raenest Now Has a U.S. Presence

This was the first major announcement, Raenest officially announced their presence in the United States, which means they’re no longer operating purely through third-party banking partners.
Why does that matter?
Because when a company like Raenest handles international transactions directly, it removes all those tiny delays, disconnections, and service gaps that often happen with cross-border partnerships.
Now, if you’ve got clients, friends, or family in the U.S., they can create a Raenest account and send you money instantly — no Western Union, no MoneyGram hassle. Just your Raenest tag, and the transaction happens in seconds.
That’s a massive step up for users in Africa and beyond.
2. Raenest + Geegpay Are Now One Brand

The second big announcement was the merger of the Geegpay and Raenest brands.
You’ll no longer see “Geegpay” as a separate platform — everything is now under Raenest. The Geegpay app is now called Raenest Personal.
Before, Geegpay mainly served freelancers, solopreneurs, and creators, while Raenest catered more to business clients.
Now, they’ve brought both platforms together — so everyone gets the same powerful features, unified service, and seamless experience.
Everything you need is now in one place — the Raenest app.
New App Features of Raenest Personal
After the announcements, they went ahead and unveiled the new Raenest App Features. I was privileged to test the beta version of the new Raenest app before the launch — and it’s packed with upgrades.
Here are the five new features that stood out to me:
1. Physical Cards Are Finally Here

This is one I’ve personally been waiting for.
Previously, you could only get virtual cards through Geegpay. But now, you can request an actual physical Raenest card.
I really wish this feature existed when I traveled to Portugal a few months ago. I had to deal with cash everywhere — at restaurants, malls, even barbershops. It wasn’t the end of the world, but a card would’ve made life so much easier.
Now, you get both options — virtual or physical — depending on what suits you best.
2. Stablecoin Wallets

Raenest is stepping into the crypto space with stablecoin wallets — so you can now receive payments in USDT or USDC directly into your account.
This gives users a lot more flexibility, especially for international transactions. And considering how widely accepted crypto payments are becoming, this move makes perfect sense.
3. Pay Bills Right in the App

You can now pay bills directly inside Raenest — everything from electricity to internet, cable TV, and airtime top-ups.
It’s a small addition, but it makes life so much more convenient. Having everything — payments, transfers, bills — inside one app just feels complete.
4. Investment Options

Raenest is introducing investment features, they call NEST, so you’ll soon be able to buy shares of both local and international companies directly from your account.
Why is this important?
Because freelancers and remote workers who get paid in USD can now invest directly in USD without converting to Naira first.
That saves you both time and money, especially if you invest regularly.
5. More Ways to Send Money

In addition to regular bank transfers and Raenest tag payments, the app now supports mobile money, letting you send cash across more African countries where mobile money is active.
So if you’re making business payments or helping out family abroad, you’ve got more options than you had before.
All the Classic Features Are Still There
And of course, all the old favorites are still available:
-
Multi-currency accounts (USD, EUR, GBP, and NGN)
-
Virtual cards
-
Invoices and payment links for clients
So if you’ve used Geegpay before, nothing’s missing in the new Raenest Personal App — it’s just better, faster, and cleaner now.
Final Thoughts
I’m genuinely impressed with the direction Raenest is heading.
It’s no longer just a freelancer’s tool — it’s evolving into a full financial ecosystem for modern digital professionals, business and for everyday transactions.
